MODERN
SLAVERY

Dear business partners,

The success of our company depends on the trust of our stakeholders. We must maintain this trust and prove that we live up to it. For this reason, Balmung Medical Handel GmbH has established a code of conduct that translates the company's fundamental ethical values into behavioral guidelines. This code applies to all our employees, managers, board members and partners and must be adhered to by all.

On this page you will find our Code of Conduct which refers to the important topic of "Modern Slavery". Here you can find out all about our efforts to combat modern slavery in all its forms. We are committed to upholding ethical standards and protecting human rights throughout our supply chains. Dive in to find out more about our actions and commitment.

MODERN SLAVERY

is a crime and a violation of fundamental human rights. It takes various forms, such as slavery, servitude, forced and compulsory labor, and human trafficking, all of which share the commonality of depriving a person of their freedom for personal or commercial gain.

As an internationally operating trader and importer of medical products, we commit to providing our customers with high-quality products and services that comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements, as well as meeting customer demands.

BALMUNG follows a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all business relationships and dealings. We strive to implement and enforce effective systems and controls to ensure that modern slavery is not taking place within our own business or supply chains.

WE TAKE RESPONSIBILITY

At BALMUNG, we are committed to upholding the principles of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and taking a strong stance against modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. We recognize the importance of transparency and accountability in addressing these issues and are dedicated to ensuring that our business activities contribute to the promotion of human rights and ethical practices.

CREATING CLARITY

We have developed a comprehensive Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy that reflects our commitment to preventing slavery and human trafficking in our business and supply chains. This policy is communicated to all employees, suppliers, and stakeholders of our company.

RISK ASSESSMENT

We conduct regular assessments to identify and evaluate potential risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. These assessments help us understand areas that require special attention and enable us to implement targeted measures to mitigate risks.

TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT

Our employees receive training to recognize and address issues related to modern slavery and human trafficking. We believe that an informed and vigilant workforce is crucial to preventing and uncovering such practices.

REPORT SUSPICIONS

We encourage employees, suppliers, and other stakeholders to report concerns related to modern slavery and human trafficking. We have established effective reporting mechanisms to ensure that such concerns are addressed promptly and appropriately.

CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT

BALMUNG is committed to the continuous improvement of our efforts to combat modern slavery. We regularly review and update our policies, procedures, and practices to ensure their effectiveness and relevance in the evolving landscape of ethical business conduct.

We expect all our contractors, suppliers, and other business partners to adhere to the same high standards. Specific prohibitions against the use of forced, compulsory, or trafficked labor, or holding individuals in slavery or servitude, whether adults or children, will be included in our contract processes in the coming year. We expect our suppliers to hold their own suppliers to these high standards as well.

This policy applies to all individuals working for us or on our behalf in any capacity, including employees at all levels, directors, officers, agency workers, seconded employees, volunteers, interns, agents, contractors, external consultants, representatives of third parties, and business partners.
